About the West Sacramento Foundation

The money donated to the Foundation makes an important difference in many people's lives.

  • One Hundred-eighty students were able to participate in Junior Achievement programs to develop business skills that will help them find jobs when they grow up.
  • The Community Clinic was able to provide dental care for low-income families.
  • Explorit, the science center, presented a "Science in Your World" program to the West Sacramento community for an evening of fun, amazement and learning.
  • Lekotek brought special needs to children to the library for story time and to learn about computers.
  • The West Sacramento Little League bought safety helmets and a first-aid kit.

The Foundation derives most of its annual giving budget from the West Sacramento Foundation 444 Tournament, a golf tournament. Other significant donations come from businesses and individuals, as well as employee contributions through United Way designation.

Because of the dedication of its staff and volunteers, the West Sacramento Foundation is able to streamline its administrative costs.
